My heart is in my writing, but what kind of writing is it?

So, I have been reading about a wonderful blogger  writer named Jeff Goins, and I have found that a lot of his works really resonate with me.
I guess I wanted to share that with you.

I read his e-book, The Writer's Manifesto, which he says is about getting back into the heart of writing. He talks about writing for yourself and about escaping from the mindset we fall into when we try to create something to feed an audience or a fan base. Something I discovered from that was that I already write for myself. I always do. Writing has always been a big part of my life.

At the present time, I write movie reviews for my local paper. I also am in the process of planning to write a script for my local melodrama group, Two Wells Melodrama Group. Also, almost every day when something noteworthy happens it's when I decide, "instead of making it into a mysterious Facebook status, or using a lyric to represent my feelings, I might make a poem out of it." I have a lot of poems. I even have the very first poem I ever wrote in a folder full of other poems.

Where I am right now, (is where this post is leading, I think) in terms of what kind of writer I am, is a little confusing. I wish I know what kind of writer I'll be.

The idea I have and the goal I work for is to try everything.
I will try and write a song one day too, (I am also a bit of a musician) if I can manage it.
I would love to write a book filled with themes of fantasy and history and a big lovely moral at the end.
I want to write awesome opinion pieces and have people admire me for them.
I am studying Journalism, so I guess at some point, I'll have some articles to share someday.
And then there's my blog.
A place where I can talk about all these different things I do, I want to do and don't know how to do.
Maybe my blog might even become something more as my writing shapes itself.

Nevertheless, I really just wanted to share with you, Jeff. His stuff is pretty cool.

So for now, to whoever is reading out there,

Thank you.

Jessica
